The Core Value Prayer

Prayer is a core value here at Oxford Valley Chapel. An explanation of the core value follows. Prayer We hold firmly that individually and as a church that prayer is a form of worship that approaches God in: praise and adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication and intersession. We encourage and equip our members to pray diligently and fervently.

Relentless Faith In The Furnace

“Faith is believing that God can not that believing that God will. We believe that God can but where our faith come in to place is that we will trust God and leave the decision to him as weather He can and weather He will.” — Dan Skogen “We don’t need to repeat the sins of the past. We need to put off we need to put on we use the bible we need to plan a what we are…

The Authority Of Scripture Or The Autonomy Of Man

Sermon Notes (The Bulletin) Our culture is at war, actively fighting against the authority of Scripture! Eight major battlefields over the last 100+ years where the authority of Scripture has been defeated by the culture in the United States of America. Battlefield #1 – Origin of Mankind: Charles Darwin on the Origin of Species, November 1859, Scopes Trial 1925. Our culture has authoritatively said that man is a product of the evolutionary process. God said in Genesis 1 & 2 that He created male and female human beings. Battlefield #2 – Source of Sin: Freud, Jung, Maslow, Skinner’s authority on the source of sin is embraced. God said that the source of sin is a man’s heart. (Proverbs 4:23; Proverbs 23:7; Luke 6:45) Battlefield #3 – Sanctity of Life: Roe vs. Wade, January 22, 1973. God said as recorded in the Bible that life begins at conception and is sacred. (Genesis 1:26; Psalms 139; Jerimiah 1:5) Battlefield #4 – Sexual Expression: The 60’s and early 70’s said that sexual freedom brought satisfaction. God has much to say about morality, fornication, adultery, and homosexuality. (1 Corinthians 5:11; Ephesians 5:3; 1 Peter 1:15; Hebrews 13:4) Battlefield #5 – The Definition of Marriage: Culture has now declared that marriage can be between members of the same sex. God has very clearly said in Genesis that marriage is between one man and one woman. Battlefield #6 – Marriage and Roles in Marriage: Our culture rejects the necessity of marriage and marriage roles in the Bible. From the Garden on Eden, God planned marriage and gave marriage roles in Eden. Battlefield #7 – Assisted Suicide: Culture rejects the sanctity of life both at its conception and its conclusion. God clearly says that human life is sacred, being created in God’s image. Battlefield #8 – Sexual Identity (transgender): Gender is self-determined, each person determines their own gender. Gender is not determined by the sexual differences that the Creator God has embedded into every cell in our bodies. God said in Genesis 1:27 that He creates some to be male and some to be female. The outcome from this war against the authority of the Bible cannot be overstated. This war could end the continuation of Christianity in the USA as we have known it. We are the last line of defense! There is no one else coming. We must uphold the authority of God. We must lovingly, carefully, and boldly hold to and proclaim the authority of the Scripture.

The Believer’s Attitude Toward Service & Work

A biblical attitude to work is shown. It is written that God will consider the work of your fingers. The type of work is not important but how it is done is very important. Our Father who is in heaven is working. God is Holy and knows no sin. He works and so what of you, the creation? A great attitude towards work is needed so it will not be come a burden but a joy.
